02 December 2022
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) currently has multiple communication campaigns and surveys underway. With so many of these campaigns, how do you know which are genuinely HMRC, or which could be potential scams or fraud?
Here is a list of guidance pages that detail exactly what HMRC or a third-party research firm may contact you about:
- Check if a phone call you've received from HMRC is genuine - GOV.UK
- Check if an email you've received from HMRC is genuine - GOV.UK
- Check if a letter you've received from HMRC is genuine - GOV.UK
- Check if a text message you've received from HMRC is genuine - GOV.UK
- Check genuine HMRC contact that uses more than one communication method - GOV.UK
- Identify HMRC related scam phone calls, emails and text messages - GOV.UK
Don’t get caught out by potential scammers, take the time to check if communications you have received from HMRC are genuine.
