HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has issued a reminder that there is an improved version of its Agent Webchat service. It is important that agents and their teams are aware of this change to ensure they are making full use of the support available.

HMRC has confirmed it is seeing some agents continue to access the service using the previous webchat link. This old link does not direct users to the upgraded platform, meaning agents may be missing out on the benefits of the improved platform.

By using the Agent Webchat link agents can access:

  • quicker support for common Self-Assessment and PAYE queries
  • assistance with registrations, de-registrations and reactivations
  • guidance on Making Tax Digital (MTD).

Using the correct link ensures agents are connected to the right service and can take full advantage of the enhanced webchat offering, hopefully saving time and improving efficiency in resolving client queries.
