The chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, has announced that the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) has been asked to prepare an economic and fiscal forecast for publication on 3 March 2026.
As outlined at the most recent Budget, this Spring forecast will differ from the usual format. It will not assess the government’s performance against its fiscal mandate. Instead, it will serve as an interim update on the wider economic outlook and the state of public finances.
