Spring Statement 2019 date confirmed

29 January 2019

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced that the government will publish its Spring Statement on Wednesday 13 March 2019.

Following the Chancellor’s announcement at Autumn Statement 2016, there is now only one major fiscal event each year in the form of an Autumn Budget, usually held in November/December.

The Spring Statement 2019 (which will be just over two weeks before the UK is due to leave the EU), will respond to the economic forecast from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).

The Policy Team will as always, produce a summary of relevant announcements on the day. Although we are not expecting any last minute changes before the start of the new tax year, rabbits have been pulled out of parliamentary hats before, so do watch our news pages and social media feeds (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook) on Wednesday 13 March for details.
