The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has issued three rulings on advertisements from three different tax repayment agent companies. The advertisements, among other issues, failed to make clear that a fee would be deducted any tax refund due and exaggerated the refunds customers could be entitled to.

In January, HMRC announced legislative changes that will end the use of assignments, as well as other measures, to help taxpayers have greater control over their tax affairs.
It is always worth reminding taxpayers that if you are due a refund, you can claim this yourself and get 100% of any money due, without using an agent.
