Following it’s first reading in the House of Commons today, 10 October, the Employment Rights Bill has been published, within the first 100 days of our new government, as promised.
At an enormous 158 pages, this will take some time to read through and digest, so the policy team will do just that, and inform you accordingly on exactly what you need to know.
The Bill covers the long-awaited legislative changes to:
- Zero hours workers
- Flexible working
- Statutory sick pay
- Entitlements to leave
to name just a few.
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has published its Next Steps to Make Work Pay, which is a slightly lighter read than the 158 page Bill.
As mentioned above, please keep an eye on the News pages of the website to stay up to date as we start to digest the changes this Bill will bring about.
