HM Treasury and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have announced the re-launching of The Pensions Commission.

The commission will look at the wider pension landscape, including adequacy, fairness, the state pension and workplace pensions. Analysis shows that 15 million people are under saving for retirement, with low-earners, the self employed and ethnic minorities at greatest risk of low pension adequacy.

The commission is due to report on its findings by 2027.

In addition to this, the government has brought forward the review of the state pension age, not required to be completed until 2029.
