HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has released a tool for individuals to check how the winter fuel allowance will be reclaimed as part of an overview of the allowance.
For the majority of those impacted, the allowance will be reclaimed via the tax code, however, you can check with the tool for the individual's specific circumstances. Where a tax code is used to reclaim the allowance, it will be reduced to take the amount owed over the course of the tax year.
