Members can now read our response to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) consultation into the planned SSP reforms. It can be found here in the MyCIPP section of the website.
Responses to our surveys and think tanks indicated that the payroll profession favours a 90% of average weekly earnings basis for the consultations key question. This is partially unsurprising due to the already established percentage used for some other statutory entitlements, such as maternity pay.
The consultation will inform further movement on the planned reforms, which we will likely hear about next steps during 2025. It is likely such changes would not be implemented for 2025, so expect potential impacts from April 2026.
