Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) changes introduced through the Employment Rights Act 2025 have now been in force since April 2026, and employers are beginning to see the practical impact of the reforms in day-to-day payroll and absence management.

While much of the discussion ahead of implementation focused on the legislation itself, attention is now turning to the operational realities. The real questions often arise when applying the rules to individual circumstances now these have become a part of workplace processes.

To help employers navigate these changes,  the CIPP’s Policy Team members Mathew Akrigg and Roxanne Slevin will be joined by representatives from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) for a dedicated SSP webinar on 6 August 2026 at 11am.
