CIPP survey on Ethnicity Pay Reporting

The government has published a consultation on ethnicity pay reporting alongside a Race in the Workplace Charter, which asks how a new reporting requirement should operate.
In order to report ethnicity pay information, employers must first collect and analyse information relating to different ethnic groups in their workforce. The consultation aims to agree on a consistent methodological approach which drives meaningful action while remaining proportionate and without adding undue burdens on business.
This consultation invites views on mirroring some or all elements of the gender pay gap regulations such as proposing the same threshold of 250 employees or above for mandatory reporting. It also sets out options and asks questions on:
- What ethnicity pay information should be reported by employers to allow for meaningful action
- Who should be expected to report
- Next steps
As with many consultation surveys, there may be questions that you are unable to answer or provide an opinion on, so please do just provide answers where you feel you can.
