You may have seen the latest Advisory Fule Rates to use from 1 September 2025 and the change from a single rate for electric cars to a rate dependent on charging location.
HMRC guidance on these rates states to use the correct value of miles and the correct rate, however, there has been no guidance currently issued on how to apply the correct rates for electric vehicles.
The policy team has requested further clarification from HMRC and will keep you updated when we have a response.
