The CIPP has responded to HM Revenue and Customs’ (HMRC’s) consultation seeking views on implementing a requirement to provide the workplace postcode where employers are claiming the associated National Insurance relief.

In short, the CIPP agrees that the requirement is proportionate and does not propose too much undue burden based on the relief available. However, we expressed concern with legislative creep where such requirements could be expanded to include other data where the provision of such data would introduce additional administration where it is not beneficial.
