HMRC updates Making Tax Digital for Income Tax guidance pages

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has released 4 new guidance pages for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax.
Individuals can sign up for Making Tax Digital for Income tax if the meet all of the following criteria:
- they are registered for Self Assessment
- they get income from self-employment or property, or both
- their total qualifying income is more than £10,000.
The four guidance pages updated by HMRC are:
- Check if you can sign up for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax
- Using Making Tax Digital for Income Tax
- Sign up as an individual for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax
- Check when to sign up for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax
Signs ups can start for a planned implementation date of 6 April 2024. These pages break down the requirements to use the scheme, who can use it and how to sign up.
