National Work Life Week 2018 – 1 to 5 October
28 September 2018
National Work Life Week is Working Families’ annual initiative that gives employers the chance to showcase how they provide work-life balance for their staff.
The week is an opportunity for both employers and employees to focus on well-being at work and work-life balance. Employers can use the week to provide activities for staff and to showcase their flexible working policies and practices.
Need a little help or inspiration? Some of the ideas from previous years include:
-
Blogs/vlogs/tweets from staff on how they work flexibly to balance work and home life
-
Blogs/vlogs/tweets from parents on shared parental leave
-
Clinics on flexible working with senior executives on talking about how they’ve progressed their careers
-
Re-launch of parent and carer policies
-
Family/Parent/Carer Networks have run events and webinars
-
Run a showcase on job sharing
-
Onsite health checks and healthy eating talks
-
Lunchtime walks or exercise/relaxation/meditation classes
-
Participation in workplace orchestras and choirs
-
Drop-in sessions on, for example, financial wellbeing/ employee benefits
-
Sessions on physical and mental wellbeing
