Statutory payment proposals policy think tank

06 August 2019

Further to the consultation documents published last month covering various wide-ranging proposals on statutory payments and sickness absence, the CIPP is holding a think tank on Tuesday 20 August in Leeds to meet representatives from BEIS, DWP and HMRC to discuss the implications for payroll of a range of proposals.

The specific issues include:

  • Reforming Statutory Sick Pay to support workers during a phased return

  • Transparency of flexible working and family-related leave and pay policies

  • Neonatal leave and pay entitlement

Although having close links with HR, making statutory payments is a crucial payroll function, and any changes will have an impact.

This think tank is your opportunity to share views and experiences and give the government’s policymakers a real insight into the practical issues affecting payroll processes and payroll software.

Invitations to the think tank will be distributed shortly to Full, Fellow and Chartered members. To secure your place, please email us by no later than noon on Thursday 15 August 2019.
