The month of October is special month here at the CIPP, as we celebrate our one-year anniversary since our launch of Chartered membership. Amongst our celebrations, we wanted to shine the spotlight on some of our chartered member’s and their life since achieving this incredible accolade.

And so, the Chartered membership celebrations continue with this week’s Chartered member, Deborah Auton whose interest for Chartered membership sparked last year at Graduation, as she was ‘interested in finding out more and if I could apply.’  Deborah has been in payroll for many years and believed that ‘Chartered membership status is validation that I have that knowledge and experience which is backed up by qualifications.’

Pride has been one of the main benefits Deborah has felt since achieving Chartered status, ‘I feel it gives me greater credibility in the workplace.’ Not only this but achieving Chartered status has given Deborah great pride and hasn’t gone unnoticed by her employer. Deborah tell us that she ‘was congratulated at our Managers meeting and it was published in the Newsletter. Deborah’s chartered status has also been used for an upcoming Know Your Customer meeting with HMRC to show that we are a professional payroll team. Seeing this kind of recognition is truly rewarding for us as an organisation, well done Deborah!

Deborah’s advice to anyone thinking to apply for Chartered status to ‘absolutely go for it!!’. She explains that ‘Don’t think you need to have been a payroll manager for 40 years, it’s about showing you have the knowledge and experience and understand the Payroll bigger picture.’

If you feel ready for the challenge, apply today. Or, if you are interested in finding out more please email us.
