HMRC looking for volunteers to test AOSS

28 October 2015

Agent Online Self Serve (AOSS) is launching an expanded view of employer clients PAYE accounts which will provide a monthly breakdown of employers’ PAYE liabilities and how the payments received have been allocated to each period. HMRC are calling all tax agents as they need help to test this enhanced feature.

Would you like to be at the forefront of HMRC’s Agent Online Self Serve (AOSS) live service? AOSS is going from strength to strength and has now successfully moved into Private Beta testing.

Full details of how to become involved in testing can be found on HMRC’s Working with Tax Agents Blog.

CIPP comment

We would just like to highlight the difference in accessing the client liabilities and payments. Within the prototype screens it explains the levels of authorisation:

You are authorised to view liabilities and payments for clients you authorised with either:

  • the online agent authorisation service
  • the paper 64-8 and FB12 forms.

You are not authorised to view liabilities and payments if:

  • you only used the FB12 form
  • you were authorised directly by your client using Government Gateway.

If you are not able to become involved in testing, you can still let HMRC have your views on the prototype screens by completing the short feedback form on the final screen. Alternatively post your views or suggestions on AOSS by commenting on the Tax Agents blog?
