The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals supports HMRC in reaching the unrepresented employers
17 February 2014
The CIPP supports HMRC by producing a flyer in respect of end of year return submissions for those who are not represented by professional bodies.
With the introduction of real time information, there are important process changes for the end of year returns that must be submitted to HMRC. The CIPP has helped HMRC communicate to the unrepresented employers in respect of their obligations. The flyer highlights the key changes and provides information on how and when employers need to submit their information.
Karen Thomson, Associate Director of Policy, Research & Strategic Visibility said “The CIPP is delighted to have helped this business sector understand their obligations. HMRC aims to educate all their customers and whilst the CIPP can reach the thousands of payroll professionals, we recognise there are many who conduct payroll duties but do not have the support of a professional body”.
Suzanne Newton, HMRC’s Real Time Information Programme Director, said: “The vast majority of individual PAYE records are being reported in real time, and the majority of employers have told us that RTI has been either very or fairly easy to deal with. But we are continuing to work hard to improve the guidance and help we offer employers and are grateful for the support CIPP has given.”
