The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals bolsters consultancy arm with two new appointments

01 July 2015

The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) is bolstering its commitment to global payroll consultancy following the appointment of two new senior members of staff.

The CIPP - the Chartered Institution for payroll and pensions professionals in the UK – is pleased to announce both Colin Jackson and Martin Stockton have joined the business to develop its consultancy division both at home and abroad respectively.

Mr Jackson takes on the role of Head of UK Consulting having previously worked in payroll since 1997 for a host of names including Midland HR and NGA amongst others, and will work with companies to help analyse existing payroll processes and identify areas for development.

In addition, Mr Jackson will also help to aid the development of payroll professionals working in organisations aligned to the existing Payroll Quality Partnership (PQP) accreditation and the Payroll Assurance Scheme (PAS) offered by the CIPP.

Mr Stockton takes on the role of Head of Global Payroll Consulting having joined the organisation from a number of high-profile organisations including SAP, IBM and Oracle where he has worked in a variety of positions spanning more than 25 years.

Mr Stockton will work with international organisations to identify enhanced payroll delivery methods and assess how organisations can make best use of new technology to enhance the flow of strategic and corporate objectives aligned to the business shared services and outsourcing.

It is hoped the new consultancy division will further enhance the CIPP’s offering to its existing members whilst also developing new business leads for the organisation both here in the UK and globally.

Chief executive officer at the CIPP, Mr Lindsay Melvin said: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome both Colin and Martin to the organisation at what is an incredibly exciting time for the organisation. The CIPP is a trusted organisation that is the fortunate position of being able to offer impartial advice from a global and UK-wide payroll perspective. I’m looking forward to seeing them take the concept to the next level over the coming weeks and months.”

The development follows a “clear demand” for the offering from existing CIPP members, whilst also building on existing links in India where the CIPP works alongside the National Academy of Indian Payroll (NAIP)

The launch of CIPP Consult follows the announcement that the CIPP recently opened one office based in Glasgow with another based in Mumbai in India set to open shortly.

The new office in Scotland will be managed by the CIPP’s National lead for Scotland, Allan Isdale. Meanwhile, the office in India will be managed by the National Academy of Indian Payroll (NAIP) on behalf of the CIPP.

Mr Melvin added: “This announcement marks an exciting period of expansion for the CIPP and the new consultancy offering is the ideal way for the organisation to further enhance the existing relationship we have with our members. In addition, it will also help to spread the word about the CIPP to a whole new audience.”
