Ahead of the upcoming deadline, HMRC provides more educational tools to help individuals complete Self-Assessment tax returns

The deadline of 31 January 2020 for filing Self-Assessment tax returns and paying any related bills is rapidly approaching, and to assist individuals in relation to the process, HMRC has published a series of YouTube videos and webinars to help alleviate some of the pressure.

The following webinars may be useful to people who are yet to start, or are in the process of, completing their tax return. As always, there will be the opportunity to ask any questions using the on-screen text box feature.

How do I complete the self-employment section on my tax return? This webinar will focus on allowable business expenses and what needs to be completed if you are a foster carer. This will take place on Monday 27 January 2020 – 2pm – 3pm.

How to show self-employed business expenses on your tax return. This webinar gives an overview of the most common allowable expenses and explains what business expenses are. This webinar will be held on Friday 24 January 2020 – 1pm – 2pm.
