Belfast City Council, LGSS Payroll Services, McKesson and NHS Payroll services have been re-accredited with the Payroll Quality Partnership (PQP) accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP).

The PQP award recognises organisations that apply best practice in the development of their payroll professionals to enable them to provide customers with the highest level of service and is valid for a period of two years.

The PQP accreditation scheme was launched in 2007 to provide a standard for performance management in payroll, encouraging organisations to maintain professional competence while enhancing and developing payroll skills and knowledge. Currently, there are more than 50 accredited organisations.

Mr Lindsay Melvin, Chief Executive of the CIPP, said: “I commend all of the companies that have achieved PQP re-accreditation – their ongoing dedication to their payroll staff’s professional development is a testament to the success that PQP is today.”

Lisa Hindmarsh MSc FCIPP, Payroll modernisation programme manager at NHS Payroll Services commented “We are delighted with our re-accreditation which builds upon our philosophy to train and develop our superb team to deliver the best possible payroll service.”

Christine Reed, LGSS director of people, transformation and transactions commented on their re-accreditation: “Gaining PQP accreditation for the third time is a prestigiousachievement and well deserved recognition for the LGSS payroll team. The team has seenmany changesover the lastfew years, including the transfer of Northamptonshire payrolls back in-house from an outsourced provider and then the merger of theCambridgeshire County Council andNorthamptonshire County Councilpayroll teams and business systems; to form part of a LGSS shared service between these Councils.

The LGSS payroll team has managed this change by focussing on ensuring that they have a strong and capable payroll team; fully automated and converged business processes and a strong performance management and quality assurance framework in place; all of which helps to ensure the delivery of a high quality payroll service.

Receiving this re-accreditation recognisesour payroll team’scontinual commitment toservice improvement creating a LGSS payroll centre of excellence.”
