For entry into Level 4 payroll technical study (e.g. Payroll Specialist Certificate).

This online assessment tests those who have completed the Certificate in Pensions Administration and/or the Payroll Technician Certificate, or have at least two years’ experience, who wish to progress to a higher level of study; using evaluation of existing knowledge.

Who is this assessment aimed at and entry requirements

This assessment will benefit you if you are working for an in-house payroll team, outsource provider or accountancy firm with experience of processing payroll and are competent in manual calculations.

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment is a requirement to enable those with suitable prior knowledge and practical know-how to enrol directly onto IPP Education’s Level 4 Payroll Specialist Certificate.

Assessment content

The Recognition of Prior Learning online assessment will test competency in the following areas.

  • Manual calculation of Income tax
  • Manual calculation of National Insurance Contributions
  • Manual calculation and legislation of Statutory pay and leave
  • Manual calculation and legislation of Statutory parental pay and leave

Please note: This assessment is valid for two years for entry into Level 4 payroll technical study.
