26 October 2022

The Treasury has confirmed that the fiscal plan, due to be delivered on 31 October 2022, will be delayed until 17 November 2022. It will also be upgraded to a full autumn statement.

The statement will come with a fiscal forecast from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) and will “contain the UK’s medium term fiscal plan to put public spending on a sustainable footing, get debt falling & restore stability” according to a Treasury tweet.

The Bank of England will now need to make decisions on interest rates before the contents of the statement are known.
